Art Exhibit- featured artist Don Mullison
Don has been on the Friends of Crab Orchard Refuge Board since late fall of 2014. He retired from SIU the previous summer. For much of time since then he has Chaired the Photography Committee and the Wetlands Committee. Prior to Covid-19 he and Judy Groskind conducted a weekly waterbird count for the refuge during the fall, winter and spring months. Further, he has helped with Christmas and Spring bird counts for 20 or more years on the Refuge. He has enjoyed wildlife since he was a boy and been a bird watcher for about 50 years or more. Don took up photography a few years ago and became more serious about it during his retirement (a hobby he shares with his wife Miriam, who is also on the Photography Committee). He frequently posts pictures on our new Facebook group, Friends of CONWR and Photography. He and Miriam also did a Butterfly Count together last year on the refuge. He enjoys hiking and biking on the Refuge and throughout the Southern Illinois region.
